Great video and instruction at usual! Question: for your tungsten when welding aluminum, do you have to use a grinding wheel dedicated to Al, or can you use the same stone you used for carbon steel? And the Tungsten itself – does it have to be dedicated to Al, or can you just use your same stick? (Assuming you’ve ground any previous dip off the tungsten). – Thanks!

For the most stringent applications like super conductor industry, a dedicated grinding wheel and tungsten might help but for most other things, the risk of any problems from cross contamination is very small.

Hey Jody thanks for helping me pass many welding exams. Keep up with the Awesome videos.

Alex Brinko - August 28, 2023

Thank you Jody for making all these videos. You have helped me pass many exams. D1.1 SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW. Now I have a sharp focus for GTAW both structural and Light gage. Humbly I wish I could visit you and learn from you in the flesh.Any ways keep up with the vids. I’ll never quit watching them.

Alex M. Brinko - August 28, 2023

I love your videos. I base my knowledge and general welding activities on what you show in your videos. When I compare your methods to others, yours always come out on top. I am currently in weld school and have been for a good 10 years now. Received all my D1.1 stuff. (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW) Now focusing solely on GTAW. I wish I could visit you and learn from you in the flesh. Thank you again! Keep up the vidoes, I’ll never stop watching them.
