What is the Best AC/DC TIG Welder under $1000?

The 4 Main Tips in this video on TIG welding aluminum are:

  1. Aluminum tack welds on an end can pop loose when you heat them up so making an additional tack weld inboard about 1/2" can help.
  2. Widely spaced ripples work ok on Thicker aluminum like .120" and thicker. But forFull penetration welds on thin aluminum, stepping out too far in between adding filler rod can result in a hole opening up. Better to use small steps on thin aluminum.
  3. AC frequency setting can be used to help focus the arc on thin aluminum joints like a lap joint in .050" thickness. 400hz can be really annoying to listen to but can help focus the arc on thin aluminum lap joints.
  4. Bare copper wire wound tightly next to an aluminum joint can help prevent heat saturation. A tig finger® helps you stay steady when propping next to a hot weld
