Aluminum TIG Welding Tips - AC Frequency Settings, Pulse Settings, Tack Welding
I would like to get my TIG Finger® in more local welding supply stores so I made a few displays out of aluminum.
The first one was made from .120" thick 6061 aluminum and when I took it to my local welding supply, they suggested I make a smaller one.
So version 2 was made from .063" tread plate and I made it smaller.
I get a lot of comments from folks who are struggling with tack welding thin aluminum so I get a close up of that and even show it in slow motion
I don't use Pulse settings all that much on aluminum but I do like to experiment.
Pulse settings can help you establish good timing for adding filler rod.
Another thing I learned is that 150hz to 200hz worked well for both corner joints and beads near the edge.
At the end of the video is a TIG Finger® commercial showing lots of different scenarios where it comes in handy.
