Padding Beads and some Personal News

Jody Here,

I don’t usually share details of my personal life, but this is kind of a big deal.. I thought that as a weldmonger customer, you deserve to know why I haven’t posted any videos in several weeks and also why I look different.

So here is the news:

I have been in the hospital for a month.

“You have leukemia” is not something anyone wants to hear.

But it is the hand I have been dealt.

Yet, I am full of hope

I know God is by my side and I don’t even have the words to describe how my family rallied around me.

I have a long way to go with more treatments but I have made some great progress already and I am feeling great.

And...I have a great team of doctors at Emory Hospital who think I will make a full recovery.

So what’s next?

Obviously, a life event like this makes a person think more deeply about life.

So I am asking myself the question…”what is the highest and best use of my time and energy going forward?

One thing I know is that I have really enjoyed contributing to the welding community and I feel like I have more to give.

So just know that the youtube channel and the store will both keep moving forward...

But I am not sure what that is going to look like.

I will continue to post welding videos but you might also see some podcast type videos sprinkled in along with some other different formats.

All I ask is that you bear with me during this time and of course…

Please by all means, Pray for me.

Sincerely, Jody Collier

Jody,
I NEVER comment on any YouTube content however, you have been a fantastic mentor and inspiration for me.

Hi Jody,
Heavy message! I hope you will recover well with enough energy to do your things.
Greetings from The Netherlands

It’s kinda funny the way you worded your message…because I was thinking exactly what you had said…just yesterday I was thinking, you know I haven’t seen a video from Jody I awhile…
Well damn I’m real sorry to hear what you have been going through but really glad to hear you’re on the mend. My dad was blind-sided about 7 years ago with bladder cancer. He was treated at the Mayo Hospital. It was difficult to watch him go thru it all but he has been cancer free now for 6 years. I will say a prayer for you. And thank you for all you have done for us welders.

Hi Jody, sad to hear such a news from you. I hope the treatment will work well and you will fully recover to continue your inspiring mission soon. Health stays first in the line so make yourself comfortable, don´t get stressed and just focus on the treatment. And if felt strong, we will be happy to hear from you again with your new contributions to the welding community. Stay strong.

Jody,

i’m a Cancer survivor …..!

I’ve had major whipples procedure surgery

I still have and live with multiple neuroendocrine tumours on my liver…… they re-appear every 2-3 yrs ….. and need to go back for PRT (peptide receptor therapy)….. knocks me out for a day or so……..

Please don’t google anything on your condition as the internet is full of negative things

Surround yourself with your favourite happy reading material, hunting, camping or what ever else it is that makes you happy …..!

Please get in the healthy juices

Immediately scrap all wheat, corn, and sugars from your intake…..

Meat (for me was my saviour) protein and iron was my best friend ……!

I thoroughly enjoy your tips and tricks videos …….

You will beat this

Look at it and treat this as a stepping stone

Or more like a speed hump in the rd where your forced to sit and idle for a bit in your truck and focus on what makes
yoh happy !!!

Eliminate any negative vibes or people around you

I cannot wait for more of your welding videos post your treatment

Best wishes and prayers for you

Linton Carter
