Padding Beads and some Personal News

Jody Here,

I don’t usually share details of my personal life, but this is kind of a big deal.. I thought that as a weldmonger customer, you deserve to know why I haven’t posted any videos in several weeks and also why I look different.

So here is the news:

I have been in the hospital for a month.

“You have leukemia” is not something anyone wants to hear.

But it is the hand I have been dealt.

Yet, I am full of hope

I know God is by my side and I don’t even have the words to describe how my family rallied around me.

I have a long way to go with more treatments but I have made some great progress already and I am feeling great.

And...I have a great team of doctors at Emory Hospital who think I will make a full recovery.

So what’s next?

Obviously, a life event like this makes a person think more deeply about life.

So I am asking myself the question…”what is the highest and best use of my time and energy going forward?

One thing I know is that I have really enjoyed contributing to the welding community and I feel like I have more to give.

So just know that the youtube channel and the store will both keep moving forward...

But I am not sure what that is going to look like.

I will continue to post welding videos but you might also see some podcast type videos sprinkled in along with some other different formats.

All I ask is that you bear with me during this time and of course…

Please by all means, Pray for me.

Sincerely, Jody Collier

I do not have the words to tell you how much you have meant to me over the years I have followed you on line. You have, without a doubt, encouraged more people to better themselves in this trade than anyone on this planet, and that includes the people producing welding equipment. The effort you have made is so evident in your video work. I love the story of why you left Delta in the first place! You are in our thoughts and prayers every day and I’m looking forward to many more years of following you on line. My best to you and your family. Sincerely, Jim Tiberti

Jim Tiberti,

My thoughts are definitely with you and your family for a speedy recovery! I have learned so much about how to from your videos. Keep up your positive attitude and survive!!!!

Gail,

Jody, I’m saddened to hear of your diagnosis. Both my wife and I are cancer survivors. On that note, I am and will be praying for you. I love that you are fighting. As Jimmy V said, Never give up! My wife has been cancer-free for 31 years and I have been for 19. God is capable of miracles beyond what we can even imagine. So stay strong and fight! All my best to you and your family. God bless
Steve

Jody,

Thank you for sharing news about your health, especially the encouraging news that is so good to hear.

I’ve been watching your videos for probably ten years or more. You are one of my favorites to watch and learn from.

I bought one of your CK MT200 Tig machines several years ago. I am very pleased with it. I have purchased other gear along the way, too.

If you were to put together a commemorative coffee mug (preferably) or t-shirt I would be first in line to buy some.

Stay strong, Jody, as I’m sure you will. We’re all pulling for you.

Jeff
