TIG TORCH PARTS
What is up with TIG torches and Parts?& the Numbering System? The TIG torch numbering system (like 9, 17, 20, 26, etc.) seems random to most of us welders...

The Fireball Tool Magic Square is an incredibly versatile adjustable welding and fabrication square designed to handle everything from standard 90° fit-up to custom angles, offset positioning, round material, and complex fabrication setups.
What makes the Magic Square different? It isn't just one square.
The system consists of two individual fabrication squares that can be used separately or connected together in multiple configurations. Adjust the angle, reverse the mating surfaces, separate the two halves, or reassemble them to match the job in front of you.
One tool. Multiple configurations. A whole lot of possibilities around the welding table.
Fabrication isn't always 90 degrees.
The Fireball Tool Magic Square can function as an adjustable angle square with a range from 40° to 180°, allowing you to position parts for a wide variety of angled joints and assemblies.
A zinc adjustable handle allows for fast, tool-free angle changes, making it easy to reposition the square as your project changes.
Each angle setting also gives you two useful angles—a primary angle and its complementary angle—providing even more setup options from a single position.
For the most accurate custom angle setup, Fireball Tool recommends using a digital protractor.
The Magic Square earns its name from just how many ways it can be configured.
The two squares can be linked together in five different combination configurations, allowing you to change the shape and working surfaces of the tool depending on the fabrication job.
Use the system to:
Create standard 90° setups
Set custom angles from 40° to 180°
Position material at offset locations
Change the balance and orientation of the square
Create parallel reference surfaces
Support taller fabrication setups
Separate the system into two individual squares
Instead of forcing one square to work for every job, configure the Magic Square around the workpiece.
Remove the fasteners and the Magic Square separates into two individual fabrication squares.
This gives you two independent reference tools for positioning parts, supporting assemblies, or working at multiple points on a larger fabrication project.
When you need the full Magic Square again, simply reconnect them.
Working with tubing or pipe?
Separate the two halves and the Magic Square can function as V-blocks for holding round material.
The shape helps cradle tubing and other round workpieces, giving you another useful positioning option during fit-up, layout, and welding.
That versatility makes the Magic Square useful for shops that regularly move between square tubing, plate, pipe, and other fabricated components.
Reverse the mating surfaces and the Magic Square can hold material in offset positions.
This is particularly useful when parts don't sit flush or when you need to establish a controlled offset between two pieces during fabrication.
Changing the mating surfaces gives you different reference points without having to build a dedicated fixture for every setup.
A fabrication square shouldn't block the joint you're trying to weld.
Fireball Tool designed the Magic Square with plenty of open space around the work area, giving you access for your TIG torch, MIG gun, or electrode while the square maintains the position of your parts.
Set the joint, clamp it in place, tack the assembly, and move on.
The Magic Square is available in two sizes:
Fully Opened Flat Size: 8"
Available in Cast Iron + Dragon Scale
Available in Aluminum
Compact size for general fabrication and smaller assemblies
Fully Opened Flat Size: 12"
Available in Cast Iron + Dragon Scale
Available in Aluminum
Larger working area for bigger fabrication projects
Made in the USA
When fully unfolded and locked, the larger configuration can provide up to 12" of height for taller fabrication setups.
Choose Cast Iron with Fireball Tool's Dragon Scale coating when rigidity and durability are the priority.
The cast iron version is designed for demanding fabrication environments and provides excellent resistance to warping, dents, and burrs.
Fireball Tool's Dragon Scale coating also provides improved resistance to weld spatter and corrosion compared with its previous black oxide finish.
Excellent rigidity
Built for heavy-duty fabrication
Highly resistant to warping
Resistant to dents and burrs
Dragon Scale spatter-resistant coating
Improved corrosion resistance
The Cast Aluminum Magic Square provides the same versatile design in a lighter package.
It's a great choice for mobile welding, field fabrication, or anyone who frequently moves their setup tools around the shop.
Lightweight
Easy to reposition
Great for mobile welding setups
Naturally offers some resistance to weld spatter
More resistant to warping than standard aluminum billet
The Magic Square includes Fireball Tool's alignment system to make positioning material easier—even if you don't have a dedicated fixture table.
The included tabs can be mounted on the front or back of the square to create reference surfaces for aligning material.
Tool-less thumbscrews allow the tabs to be adjusted by hand without searching for a hex key or Allen wrench.

Most welding squares do one thing really well.
The Fireball Tool Magic Square is designed to do a whole lot more.
Use it as a 90° welding square. Adjust it for custom angles. Separate it into two individual squares. Use the halves as V-blocks for round material. Reverse the mating surfaces for offset setups. Then put it back together for the next job.
For welders and fabricators who regularly build something different, that's where the Magic Square really starts to make sense.
Change the angle. Change the configuration. Build what you need.
