Clear TIG Cups in Action – Better Visibility = Better Welds

Welding with Clear TIG Cups can be a Game Changer

Watch this Video and then Decide if a Clear Cup kit might help you

Our Clear Cup Navigator Kit has 7,8,10,12 clear cups as well as 4-8 Pink cups.

The first time I saw a clear cup was around 15 years ago at a Lincoln booth at Fabtech.

I just shook my head and walked to the next booth. I just couldn't see any reason to use a clear cup.

Fast forward to Fabtech 2014 and I ran into Michael Furick and he handed me one of his clear cups to try.

I thought it might help me film arc shots better so when I got home, I tried it for filming the arc.

WOW!

Not only did it help me in making better tig welding videos, but it also lit everything up and helped me see better.

Mr. Furick said it best. "when you switch back to a pink cup, its like someone dimmed the lights"

Don't misunderstand me, I don't use clear cups for everything. I still use pink ceramic cups a lot.

But my eyesight is not the same as it was in my 20s and clear cups help me see better.

If you are having any trouble seeing the weld puddle and joint, clear cups might just give you the edge you need.

Markjessup, Those CK insulators are a booger to remove and snap back on. Sometimes, I use a hair dryer to heat up the insulator and then a butter knife to pry it off.
Michael Furick recognized the issue with CK insulators and made his adapter kit come with 2 insulators..one for CK torches and one for all others…his CK insulator is slightly larger on the ID and is made to be much easier to pop on and off.

I agree with the clear glass Furick cups. I started using them and they make a difference with my old eyes! I use the #7 the most but have them up to the #12.
As always, great video and explanation!

You’re looking really good, Jody. It’s great to see. And what a lovely garden with those trees; those outdoor shots were a nice idea. I know exactly what you mean about having welded in one’s younger days without needing any magnification. Hard to imagine now.
As ever, awesome arc shots.

T hanks, Jody for another excellent video, with plenty of tips and ideas.

Thanks Jody
You are the best. I hope you are felling well. I will be praying for you.
Now the question I have . I cannot get the insulator off of my C K # 17 TORCH.Im afraid I will break something. It won’t just pop off like it does in you videos. Any suggestions. Thanks Mark.
