The Fireball Tool 40pc Magnetic Shim Kit gives welders and fabricators a complete set of precision spacers for fit-up, welding table setup, alignment, leveling, and fabrication work.
Instead of digging through the scrap bin looking for the right piece of steel to raise or space a part, this kit gives you a range of known dimensions from 1/32" all the way up to 2".
The kit combines Fireball Tool's precision-ground magnetic shims with thin non-magnetic shims, giving you the ability to handle everything from larger setup changes to fine adjustments during fit-up.

Each magnetic shim is ground on all six sides to an accuracy of ±0.0009" and hardened to HRC 50.
That gives you consistent, known dimensions for repeatable fabrication setups instead of relying on random pieces of scrap.
Each precision shim features two rare-earth magnets on the bottom face.
Fireball Tool varies the magnet size based on the size of the shim. Taller shims have enough magnetic holding force to remain positioned sideways on a steel project and can even support some of the smaller shims.
The thinner magnetic shims use smaller magnets so they're easier to remove from your work surface.
This makes the shims especially convenient when you're working on vertical surfaces, steel fabrication tables, and complex fit-ups where a loose spacer would normally fall out of position.
For fine adjustments, the kit also includes 12 thin non-magnetic shims.
