ER309L is a tig welding filler rod that is designed to weld stainless steel to carbon steel.
But 309 filler rod also has many other uses.
When you know something is steel but are not 100% sure what type of steel it is, 309 filler rod is often a good choice.
Whether you are modifying a wrench or welding stainless to carbon, or welding a bracket on a stainless exhaust, 309 filler rod is a good rod to have in the shop
