G’day Jody , wise words on oxy safety. Some years a I worked in a heavy engineering shop as Leading Hand Fitter & machinst .We had reticulated compressed air, oxy ,LPG and welding gas. A labourer needed to use an air grinder on a job but the compressed air point was too far away so he unscrewed the compressed air fitting & screwed it in the the oxy valve even though the threads weren’t compatible. All went well for a few days till old mate decided to oil the air grinder, there was a blinding flash & bang the aluminum grinder body was burning in the pure oxy. I managed to turn the valve off ….the lesson oil or grease and oxy doesn’t mix . Regards Ian.
