MIG Bead Stacking

MIG Bead Stacking

I am padding and stacking mig beads today  using the PrimeWeld MIG180 plugged into 115volt outlet.

I started out using the MIG chart settings but I found it very helpful to lower the wire speed from recommended 236 inches per minute to 173ipm.

Using .035" ER70S6 wire with 75/25 argon/Co2 gas at around 25 cfh flow rate.

There is much discussion about whether pull or push angle works best for MIG welding.

I think a lot of that talk comes from hot spray transfer MIG where pushing tends to work best.

But this is short circuit mig where both push and pull angles work fine provided the angle is not extreme.

I used both push and pull angles in this video because I think its good to experiment.

Stay tuned for a Video where I used this mig180 to stick weld a gate repair.
